¬ Marc Paul Alain Dutroux was born on November 6th, 1956 in Ixelles, Belgium. With parents divorced in 1971, he soon set off in his teens as a drifter, and a male prostitute.
¬ He married at 20, and had many mistresses. One of his mistresses, Michelle Martin, he later married, whom he had 3 children with.
¬ In 1989, he was arrested under charges for kidnapping and raping of young girls. He was sentenced to 13 years in prison, Martin was sentenced to 5. He was soon released after 3 and a half years, against the advice of the psychiatrist and public prosecutor, who claimed he was a psychopath, and was not fit to be released.
¬ Whilst in jail, he was able to collect public assistance of $1,200 a month from the Belgium Government because of mental disability.
